Hi Everyone! My name is Brianna Welch and I am our farm director, which basically means I handle everything from day-to-day field work to partnership opportunities, to seed selection and more! The idea of starting a flower farm originally popped into my head after my first year as a new mom reflecting on how much I enjoyed the slow time just being outdoors with my son -- no agenda, no to do list, just us, the trees, birds, and the calm.
While I have always been an outdoors person --- competing in track and cross country since I was five, a love for hiking, and living in a van for 1.5 years exploring beautiful national parks, my daily morning walks with Quinn highlighted a presence and calm that I desired to have in my everyday life. Paired with my love for challenge and physical activity, starting a flower farm seemed like it would be a great way to combine all of the things that bring me joy and at the same time be able to provide locally grown, unique varieties of flowers to those in our community. While I know the early stages are always the most challenging, this combination of problem solving, strategizing and physical work is exactly what I look forward to as we think about the future of our farm and offerings!
Outside of my role as Farm Director I balance managing my first business as a coach and consultant for athletic leaders, coaches and student-athletes. Through my leadership development programming I assist coaches in building the necessary skills to foster more positive coach-athlete relationships and better support the needs of the whole individual. As a holistic mental performance coach I work one-on-one with athletes to support them in navigating the mental, emotional and psychological challenges that arise to help them reach their potential. When I’m not in the field or running my workshops I spend my time with my son Quinn exploring and watching his curiosity blossom. Already a great farm helper it won’t be long before he is running the show!
